Nuffield Farming Scholarship

In 2010 Caroline travelled to India, Australia, Canada and the United States to investigate agricultural communications as part of a Nuffield Farming Scholarship.

Interested in the way the media is evolving and how audience habits and needs are changing, Caroline wanted to learn how communication with farmers could be improved.

As well as looking at how people in agriculture found and shared information, she wanted to discover how new media technologies could be used to help  the industry in its efforts to feed a growing world population in a sustainable way.

A summary of Caroline’s report is available online, or you can read the full document here. Alternatively, you can watch a video of her presenting her findings at the 2011 Nuffield Conference below.

You can also read more about the farmers Caroline met and the places she went on her travels on her Nuffield blog, Nufsaid.
